Essay and/or background: There been a lot of argument in the blogosphere about this lately. It has not been so much on whether impeachment is deserved, which is my assertion's top support (by the way, click on the 'Focus' link under a given post to see its supports, can be easy to miss) -- most people who bother discussing impeachment at all seem to agree it is deserved. Rather, differences are on whether impeachment is a practical and a worthwhile goal to put effort towards. I believe it is, for the reasons I lay out and support below. I also try to anticipate some counterarguments below (if you see a > on the left side of a post, click it to expand the counterarguments below). A lot of people I respect disagree with my stand, but hopefully we can lay out all the issues in one place. There are numerous places where the issue has been discussed recently. I paste just one of the most recent URLs below, as it has an interesting poll of DailyKos members and their comments pro/con.

The top point in support right now is, "we have no higher calling than restoring the constitution"
