Assertion:
Bruce Lee could defeat Chuck Norris.
Essay and/or background: Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris are of course both great martial artists. It's a common debate who would win a fight between them.
Lee and Norris were similar in many ways and share many connections. Both were born in 1940 (Lee died in 1973 at age 32 while Chuck Norris is still going strong today) and both achieved world fame. Norris was a student of Lee in Jeet Kune Do and was a even a pall bearer at Lee's funeral. Lee gave Norris his big start in movies with a role in Way of the Dragon. The fight between them in that movie is legendary. Of course, that fight was scripted.
Despite the many similarities, my guess is that, matched up in their primes, Lee would have won a fight.
