If it was a only a question of technology, then reducing carbon emission today appears preferrable to worrying about issues of nuclear waste tomorrow.

Point
Tomorrow's technology will be better than today's so it is better to use the technology that can make a lot of energy today (nuclear) and worry about waste tomorrow.
